Each spider carries two amethysts: a small round stone at the head end and a larger pear cut, point down, for the body. Eight gold plated legs bend out around them, and the whole charm swings from a fine chain below a small gold plated hoop, so the figure hangs well clear of the lobe and shifts with any turn of the head.
Four amethysts across the pair, 0.40 carats between them, 40 millimeters from the top of the hoop to the last leg. The shape is exact enough to read instantly and small enough to stay light.
