The head of this ring is a flower. Five marquise cut amethysts radiate from a small silver bead at the middle, four larger pear cut stones fill the quarters around them, and smaller rounds are set into the gaps along the top edge and across the base, so purple covers the face almost to its outline.
The two tone setting frames that color twice over. A scalloped band of gold plating runs around the outside of the head and carries beaded detail down onto each shoulder, while every prong and every seat holding a stone is white, so the amethyst sits against silver and the gold appears only at the border. At size 8 the face reads at full cocktail scale across the finger.
