The aquamarine is the whole pendant, a broad oval of clear sky blue running past nine carats, encircled by a continuous halo of small round diamonds that follows the full perimeter. A short diamond set bail carries it on a fine white gold chain.
At 28 by 16 millimeters it hangs as one substantial drop. Light travels straight through a stone this open in color, so the blue stays even from edge to edge instead of pooling toward the center, and the cool white metal keeps out of its way.
