This pendant is deliberately two toned. A round aquamarine of 0.74 carats sits in a yellow gold bezel at the centre, and that warm ring is set inside a quatrefoil frame of white metal edged in milgrain and set with 0.18 carats of small white topaz.
The result is a warm core inside a cool border, which is why the pale blue green of the aquamarine reads more strongly here than it would in an all white mounting. The scalloped outline and the beaded edging give it an antique cast. It measures 22 by 15 mm on an 18 inch chain, in gold plated sterling silver.
