The center stone is carved. In place of a faceted table the aquamarine has been worked as a flower, a shallow rosette of petals cut into a pale ice blue disc, so it returns light in soft ridges rather than sharp points. Around it oval kyanites overlap in two staggered layers, deeper and more violet in tone, and the outline they build resolves into a six pointed star.
Small round diamonds trace that scalloped edge and mark the junctions where the petals meet. Close to ten carats of stone in sterling silver makes for a broad, high ring, and at a size 7.5 the face reaches nearly the full width of the finger.
