Three oval aquamarines run in a vertical line up the finger, each held in its own frame of small round white zircon. Between and around them the sterling silver opens into scrolled loops, so the mount reads as openwork as much as setting, and light passes through the gallery from both sides.
The aquamarine keeps a pale, watery blue that barely separates from the white metal around it, which is what gives the ring its close-toned, almost monochrome look. The zircon frames are brighter and colder, and they draw the outline of each oval. On a size 6 finger the row covers most of the span between knuckle and joint, so it carries more presence than its carat weight suggests.
