The black diamonds occupy only the front arc of this hinged bangle, thirty-two of them in two staggered rows that step past one another at the midpoint rather than running as one straight band. The offset is what makes the piece read as designed rather than simply set, and it widens the dark section right where it sits on top of the wrist.
Behind that the bangle returns to plain polished round wire, so the rhodium plated sterling silver carries the shape and the stones carry the front. Black diamond takes light at the facet edges instead of through the stone, and against bright white metal each one holds its own hard outline. It opens on a hinge and closes with a tongue and box catch.
