Nine millimeters is a wide face for a stud, and these two black diamonds use all of it: 4.8 carats between them, round brilliants held in four claw baskets of 14K white gold that carry them forward of the lobe. At conversational distance each stone reads as a solid dark disk, the crown facets registering only as slight shifts of tone across the surface.
The white gold is polished bright, so the claws and the collar draw four thin lines of light around each circle of black. Post and butterfly backs sit behind. At this scale the pair works as two graphic dark points rather than as anything that flashes.
