The face of each earring is a flat square paved edge to edge with round stones, and the two colors are not mixed together: white diamonds fill the field while the blue are massed into a triangular wedge that rises from the bottom edge to a point near the top. The metal beneath the blue is darkened, which sharpens the boundary where the two meet.
The two earrings are mirrored, the wedge leaning one way on the first and the other way on its partner. At 12 by 12 millimeters the square lies flat on the lobe and reads as a graphic block rather than a scatter, with 0.36 carats of blue holding their own against 0.28 of white across a larger area.
