Navy is the right word for these sapphires. Set as ovals in four yellow gold prongs, they read almost black in the shadowed parts of the row and open into blue where the light reaches the table. A single round diamond bridges each pair, set in a short bar so the eye gets a clean white break between one stone and the next.
The 5.44 carats of sapphire runs the full seven inches without a gap, and the gold underneath supplies the warmth here. It closes with a box clasp and a hinged safety catch.
