White metal against a near black blue is a harder contrast than gold gives, and that is what this pair trades on. Each pear cut sapphire is closed in a full white gold bezel, an unbroken bright rim that draws the outline of the stone cleanly and stops the dark blue from disappearing into shadow at the ear.
The top of each earring is a small white gold teardrop carrying one round diamond, joined to the sapphire by an open link so the drop moves separately from the post. Fifteen millimeters end to end, six across, so they hang just clear of the lobe.
