The marquise sapphire here sits point up over a pave diamond plate cut to the same marquise outline, and because the plate is a little larger than the stone it shows as a bright border curving out from under the lower half of the sapphire. Yellow gold straps cross the shoulders of the stone and a gold bead finishes each point.
Above it, a short run of small diamonds is pave set into the front of the hook in white metal, so light starts at the lobe, breaks for the dark blue of the sapphire, and picks up again beneath it. Thirty-one millimeters long and eight millimeters at the widest.
