A marquise cut sapphire hangs at each ear, held only at its two points so the long body of the stone is left entirely open. Light reaches it from the sides where a four prong head would block it, which matters on a stone this dark.
The blue is deep and slightly silky, closer to ink than to cornflower, and the polished white gold lever back above stays plain so nothing distracts from the shape. A small hinged link means the marquise swings and turns rather than facing forward. 26 x 5 mm, 1.18 carats for the pair.
