Each earring is assembled in four parts down its length: a slim hook wire, a tapering bar pave set with small diamonds, a single larger round diamond held in four claws, and then the marquise sapphire itself, tip set top and bottom so it hangs point down. Six diamonds to a side, twelve across the pair.
The sapphire is the whole weight of the piece and reads almost navy, opening to a lighter blue down the middle of the stone where the facets catch the light. Articulated at every joint, the drop swings freely over its thirty-five millimeters and the linked diamonds above it move separately from the stone.
