The blue in these sapphires is not flat. Each oval runs lighter through the outer facets with a deeper band drawn across the middle, and the ring of white diamonds around it makes that shift easier to read instead of washing it out.
Sixteen diamonds circle each stone, thirty two across the pair at 0.30 carats, and every one is held in its own claw so the outer edge of the head breaks into small points rather than a smooth rim. The 14K white gold contributes no color of its own, which leaves the sapphires as the only warm or cool decision in the piece. Each head measures 11 by 9 millimeters and sits flat against the lobe.
