Two hearts overlap in this pendant, one in yellow and one in white metal, and the upper curves of the yellow heart resolve into the figures of a mother and child leaning toward each other. The white heart sits lower and wider, and the two outlines cross rather than nest, which builds depth into a design that has no solid surface anywhere in it.
Seven round blue sapphires run along the bottom curve of the white heart, shared prong set in a shallow arc so the blue gathers exactly where the eye finishes tracing the shape. The pendant measures 26 x 15 mm and hangs from an 18 inch chain.
