An openwork silhouette of a mother bending toward her child frames the center of this pendant, and within that frame an open heart is traced entirely in small round blue sapphires, bead set in an unbroken line around the outline. A second heart, smaller and in polished yellow gold, overlaps it from below so the two outlines interlock instead of sitting side by side.
The body of the pendant reads white, which leaves the yellow to appear once, in that inner heart, as the single warm note against the blue. At 23 x 17 mm the piece stays compact and the 18 inch chain holds it high on the chest, where the cut out shapes stay legible.
