The pendant is built as an open circle, one half worked in warm yellow metal and the other in white, the two arcs curving together so that a taller figure appears to cradle a smaller one. A single round blue sapphire sits at the base of the circle where the two halves close, a dark point of color against the polished surface.
At 0.18 carats the sapphire is punctuation rather than a focal stone, and the piece reads at the neck as sculpture first and gem setting second. It hangs from a slim cable chain through a tapered bail.
