All Gemstones are Natural in Origin
Six marquise cut sapphires build the cross, one at the head, one at each arm, one at the crossing and two running down the length, every stone set on its long axis so the arms read as a continuous line of deep blue rather than a row of separate points.
Small white stones sit in the gold between the sapphires, picking up light where the metal would otherwise go flat. The gold plated sterling silver is polished bright throughout, and the bail is narrow and unworked so nothing competes with the stones.
At 38 by 17 mm the cross has real presence against the collarbone without spreading wide, and the 18 inch chain drops it just below the hollow of the throat, clear of most necklines. The sapphires total 0.88 carats.
