All of the blue here is sapphire. An oval sapphire sits bezel set at the center, and instead of the usual white halo, a ring of round sapphires circles it in the same deep blue, each held in its own gold toned setting.
The effect is a solid field of one color rather than a stone with a bright frame around it, and it makes a 28 by 15 millimeter pendant read heavier and more saturated than its size suggests. Gold plated sterling silver, 2.98 carats of sapphire in total across the center stone and its surround.
