A cushion-cut blue sapphire holds the middle of this pendant, ringed by a close halo of small round diamonds that follows the cushion outline rather than settling for a plain circle. The 18K white gold is kept narrow and quiet so the blue carries the piece.
At 19 by 11 millimeters the drop reads as a compact point of color at the base of the throat, clear at conversational distance without demanding attention. The sapphire accounts for 2.70 of the 2.96 total carats; the 0.26 carats of diamond around it are there to sharpen the edge, and they do.
