Four pear cut blue sapphires meet point to point at the middle of this pendant, arranged as a four petal flower with every stone turned inward, so there is no center stone at all. What sits at the middle instead is a small knot of round white topaz where the four points converge.
The same small topaz fill the ground behind and between the petals, packed close in white metal so the sapphires appear to lie on a bright field, while the prongs and the bail stay yellow. The blue is deep enough to read close to navy against that pale surround. At 25 x 15 mm on an 18 inch chain, the pendant sits high on the chest and holds its flower shape at a glance.
