The setting is a spider web worked in openwork plate: a broad disc of fine radiating spokes crossed by curving threads, with one round blue sapphire bezel set dead center where the spokes converge. At 0.12 carats the stone acts as the fixed point of the design rather than its subject.
Because the web is open, the plaque reads far larger on the hand than its weight suggests, and light passes straight through the pattern. The gold plated sterling silver is polished bright so the design shows as line rather than mass, and the dark blue center anchors it. Size 7, and it sits flat enough to clear a neighboring finger.
