An oval blue sapphire of 0.94 carats sits with its long axis running up the finger, gripped by four slim white claws. The blue breaks into lighter and darker zones across the crown as the stone turns. Nothing encircles it. Instead a small crescent fan of diamonds curves in against the girdle on each side, and the shoulders carry their own bright rows of pavé running back toward the shank, sixteen stones in all.
The 10K white gold keeps the whole ring in a cool register, so the blue stays crisp rather than warmed. The profile is low and the top of the ring reads wide for its carat weight, tapering to a slim plain band at the back. Sized 7 US.
