The sapphire is a marquise, set point to point along the finger so its length does work that an oval or a round could not. It carries 2.10 carats and reads very dark, close to black through the center, opening to true blue only where light crosses the keel and the two tips.
There is no halo. The diamonds sit in a single bead set row down each shoulder, thirty six of them at 0.30 carats between the two rows, stopping where the yellow gold lifts to meet the head. That restraint keeps the marquise dominant, and the warm 10K yellow gold beneath a cold stone supplies most of the contrast in the ring. It comes at size 7 US.
