The band is beaded, built from a run of small gold spheres that carries all the way around the shank, and that texture is the first thing the eye picks up. A round blue sapphire sits low between prongs at the top with one tiny white diamond set on each side of it, so the head barely rises above the beadwork and the ring reads as a decorated band with a stone in it rather than as a stone on a band.
Sapphire weight is 0.26 carats with 0.01 carats of diamond, the smallest weights in this group. Everything is yellow gold except the two white accents, and against that much warm metal the sapphire holds as a small, concentrated point of dark blue. Sized at 6 US.
