The twisted shank does the work here. Two strands of yellow gold wind around each other the length of the band, one left plain and polished, the other bead set with a line of small diamonds, and they cross just below the head where a round sapphire sits in four claws.
It is a slight ring, narrow through the shank and low over the finger, and the twist keeps the profile from reading as a plain band. Sized 8 US, carrying 0.28 carats of sapphire with four points of diamond worked into the rope.
