The whole ring is one oval blue sapphire in four yellow gold prongs, flanked by a single small round diamond set flush into the band on either side. Those two accents sit level with the metal rather than raised, so they mark the line of the shank without adding any bulk to it, and the sapphire keeps the full height of the piece to itself.
The sapphire weighs 0.94 carats against 0.02 carats of diamond, a ratio that leaves no question about what the ring is for. The shank is unusually slim and perfectly plain, which throws the oval into relief and lets the yellow gold run as a thin warm line under a clear, open blue. Sized at 7 US, it sits close to the finger.
