The shoulders are what give this ring its character. Chevron grooves are cut into the white gold on either side of the head, stepping down into small hexagonal frames that each hold a bead set diamond, a short run of them going back along each shoulder like a row of tiny lanterns. Diamond weight totals 0.08 carats, enough to outline the shank without competing with what sits above it.
At the center a round brilliant blue sapphire of 1.02 carats sits in slender white gold claws that leave the girdle open on every side. The stone reads dark, closer to navy than to a pale blue, and the cool metal around it keeps that depth intact instead of warming it. The head sits close to the finger and the band stays narrow at size 7 US, so the ring keeps a slim profile on the hand.
