A cushion cut sapphire, pale and bright rather than dark, sits in yellow gold claws inside a cushion shaped halo of small diamonds that follows the squared outline of the stone instead of rounding it off. Both shoulders are pave set in white metal, so apart from those four claws and a thin rail beneath the head the ring reads white from the front.
0.30 carats of diamond against a 0.98 carat sapphire is a high share of the total given to accent work, and it tells at a distance: the ring registers as bright first, and the blue resolves only as you come close. Sized 7 US.
