The halo here is not a plain circle. Small round diamonds are set into eight shallow scallops around the sapphire, so the frame comes to a soft point at each corner and the head reads as a rosette rather than a disc. Inside it a round blue sapphire is held by four prongs that sit almost flush with the diamond line.
The 10K white gold band is slim, flat and completely unset, which leaves the whole ring cool and unbroken from the shoulders back. At 1.16 carats the sapphire reads dark against that much white metal, and the 0.14 carats of diamond around it gives it a bright edge to sit against. Size 7.
