Warm and cool meet at the head of this ring. A round blue sapphire is gripped by yellow gold claws and ringed by small white diamonds set into eight shallow scallops, which gives the frame a lobed, flower-like outline instead of a smooth circle. The two metal colors stay visibly separate, gold at the prongs, white around the rim.
Below the head the 10K yellow gold shank runs narrow and plain the whole way round with nothing set into the shoulders, so the ring reads as one small bright medallion sitting on the finger. Sapphire 1.16 carats, diamonds 0.14 carats. Size 7.
