A marquise cut sapphire stands nearly upright on the finger here, its long axis running with the hand rather than across it. Three round diamonds are grouped in a tight triangle against each shoulder of the stone, the trio pointing back into the band, so the outline of the head widens briefly at the middle and then narrows again to the plain shank.
It is a compact setting. Nothing rises far above the girdle line, the claws are minimal, and the 0.16 carats of diamonds is doled out across six stones that read as texture beside the sapphire rather than as a separate feature. White gold keeps the whole ring in one cool tone at size 7.
