Small round diamonds are grouped into a triangular cluster at each shoulder, set in white metal and packed tight so that each side comes to a point where it meets the plain yellow gold band. The clusters widen the head symmetrically and put the light immediately beside the sapphire.
The oval center is held in yellow gold prongs and sits slightly above the clusters, which gives the top of the ring a stepped profile. At 1.52 carats the sapphire is the clear anchor, and the gold around it warms the blue.
