The sapphire is a small oval, bezel set in yellow gold, and it is the quietest thing on the ring. Everything around it is architecture: a scalloped plaque divided by gold ribs into separate panels, each panel filled with small round diamonds set into white metal and edged in fine beaded millgrain.
0.86 carats spread across that many panels means every diamond is tiny, which is what gives the face its even, worked texture rather than any single point of fire; in the photograph the stones read warm against the white metal rather than icy. With the 0.94 carat sapphire the ring comes to 1.8 carats in gold plated sterling silver, and the plaque stands tall enough to fill the space between the knuckles.
