The round blue sapphire sits in a full bezel, the collar of gold plated silver closing all the way around the girdle so the stone reads as a smooth disc of dark blue rather than a faceted point of light. It sits low, barely proud of the shoulder, which gives the ring the flat profile of a signet.
The shoulders carry small accent stones set flush into the metal, scattered rather than lined up, four to a side and sunk level with the surface so nothing catches. They read dark against the warm plating, closer in tone to the center stone than to white. The band tapers slightly toward the back and the gold tone finish pushes the blue forward wherever the light falls.
