Two tones do the work here. The oval sapphire sits inside a tight halo of small round diamonds held in bright white metal, while the band itself runs in flat 18K yellow gold, so the halo reads as a ring of light resting on a warm line.
From the shoulders down the band is narrow and completely plain, which keeps every bit of interest concentrated in the head. The oval stands a little proud of its halo and takes the light first, with the small stones filling in around it. Size 7 US.
