A cushion cut blue sapphire sits inside a cushion shaped halo of small round diamonds, the halo's corners rounded off to follow the outline of the stone rather than boxing it in. Diamonds carry on in a bead set line down each shoulder to about the midpoint of the shank, so the white runs unbroken from the band up into the head.
What sets this one apart is the 18K yellow gold. Warm metal beside a cool blue sharpens the contrast in a way white metal does not, and the gold shows through the gallery beneath the halo as well. Sapphire carries 1.92 of the 2.14 total carats, at size 7 US.
