At 2.08 carats the sapphire is a long marquise, set on the diagonal so that its points reach past the edges of the band. The shank bypasses the stone rather than meeting it head on, curving under one point and over the other, and each curved shoulder carries a graduated line of small pavé diamonds.
Yellow gold shows at the prongs and at the tail of the shank while the diamond-set sections read white, giving the ring a two-tone line on the finger. The scale is the point here: at over two carats the marquise covers most of the finger's width and sits proud of the band.
