Milgrain is the detail that carries this ring. The oval sapphire sits inside a single row of round diamonds, and the outer edge of that halo is finished with a fine beaded rim that softens the whole outline. The diamonds then continue in a narrow line down each shoulder before the band drops away plain and polished.
The sapphire holds an even, saturated blue, and the 18K white gold keeps every surface around it silver cool. Sapphire and diamonds together come to 2.50 carats. On the hand at a size 7 it reads as a compact oval head, broader than a solitaire but well short of a cocktail ring.
