An oval blue sapphire sits square in the middle of the setting, held on four claws and flanked by two triangular clusters of small round diamonds that taper away into the shoulders. Those shoulders carry their own line of pave, so light runs the whole length of the top rather than stopping at the stone.
Against 18K white gold the blue reads cool and undiluted, with no warm cast pulled into it. At 2.36 carats the sapphire covers most of the finger's width without rising far off it, and the ring wears close to the hand at size 7.
