All Gemstones are Natural in Origin
Rather than framing the sapphire, the diamonds run away from it. Two parallel rows of small round stones travel down each side of the band in white metal channels, bordered top and bottom by polished yellow gold. The oval sapphire sits between them in gold claws, deep blue and unhaloed, with nothing crowding the color.
The effect is wider and flatter on the hand than a raised solitaire: this reads as a broad band that happens to carry a center stone. In size 7 the twin diamond rows pull the eye along the finger instead of up off it, and the gold edges keep the blue warm.
