A cushion cut sapphire sits square between four claws, with diamonds bead set the length of both shoulders, running up to the head and stopping there. No halo, no gallery detail, nothing at all to widen the outline beyond the stone itself.
At 2.54 carats the cushion is compact and heavily saturated, reading almost as a solid block of blue from any distance, and the 0.28 carats of diamond in the band gives it a bright edge to sit against. The mount is 18K white gold at size 7 US.
