An oval blue sapphire of 2.58 carats sits high in four gold claws at the head, ringed by a close halo of round brilliant diamonds set in white metal. The two tones do real work: warm gold at the prongs and the shank, bright white around the frame, so the blue reads cooler and deeper than it would in a single color mount.
The shank stays plain and narrow, tapering up to the head with no side stones to compete, which keeps the whole profile compact. On the hand the halo covers a little more than the width of the finger and stands up off it rather than spreading out.
