The sapphire here is 3.08 carats and it is set almost bare: four claws, no halo, nothing beneath it but the shank. Diamonds appear only on the shoulders, a short graduated line of small rounds running into the base of the setting from each side, the largest nearest the stone and the rest stepping down as the band narrows.
Because the shank is slim the oval looks larger than its weight would suggest, and it sits fairly low. White gold throughout, so the blue is never warmed. At size 7 the piece reads as a solitaire with a suggestion of light on the approach.
