There is no halo on this one. The oval sapphire stands alone in four claws and the work happens below it: the shank splits before it reaches the stone into two pave set arms that curve around a teardrop opening on each side, then rejoin beneath the gallery.
Those split shoulders do the framing a halo would otherwise do, carrying a line of small diamonds right up to the girdle without crowding 3.24 carats of blue. The 18K white gold keeps the palette cool from end to end, and at a size 7 the oval runs lengthwise along the finger rather than across it, so it reads tall instead of wide.
