Nearly three and a half carats of cushion cut blue sapphire sits square in a four prong white gold head, corners squared and the table broad enough to fill most of the finger width. The color is a deep even blue that darkens toward the culet, and the cut returns light in short flashes across the crown rather than in a single sheet.
A single row of round diamonds is bead set into each shoulder and runs about a third of the way down the band before giving way to plain metal. There is no halo and no side stone, so the proportion between the cushion and the two narrow white lines beneath it is what shapes the ring at size seven.
