The halo follows the cushion instead of smoothing it into a circle, so the soft cornered square of the stone survives right out to the edge of the head. Round diamonds run in a single row around it and then continue in a shorter line down each shoulder.
The sapphire is a solid mid to deep blue with broad facets across the table, 2.76 carats of it against 0.24 carats of diamond, 3 carats in total. 18K white gold, size 7 US, with custom sizing available on request.
Set this way the head reads as a squared block of blue with a bright border, sitting lower and wider on the finger than the same weight would in an upright shape, and the pave on the shoulders keeps the line unbroken from band to stone.
