A cushion cut blue sapphire of 3.90 carats sits inside a cushion shaped halo of small round diamonds, the halo worked in white metal so its outline stays crisp against the yellow gold beneath. Four yellow prongs reach up over the corners of the stone and are the only warm metal that touches it.
The band carries nothing at all: plain, flat and unset from the halo down to the palm. That restraint is what makes the head read as large as it does, nearly four carats of sapphire plus 0.44 carats of diamonds concentrated in one block at the top of the finger.
