The halo registers first: a full run of small round diamonds set in white metal, drawn as a cushion around a cushion-cut blue sapphire of just under four carats. The frame sits flush to the stone, so the head reads as one broad rounded square across the top of the finger.
The band is left completely plain, a slim polished 18K yellow gold shank running straight into the setting with nothing set along the shoulders. Bright white frame against warm yellow is the whole idea of the ring, and it makes the piece read considerably wider on the hand than the narrow band would suggest. Size 7, and it sits flat rather than tall.
